About
Hi, I’m Mel,
Spoilt Hair Retreat has been a part of the Wembley community for well over a decade, and while salon ownership may have changed, one thing remains the same; an unwavering enthusiasm to deliver personalised services that make you look and feel your best.
Being an average salon is not for us. My partner, TK, and I want Spoilt to be a space where you can sit back and relax …and well, get spoilt. We’ve created a team of hard working, fun, friendly and energetic individuals who believe nothing is impossible when it comes to creating the look you’ve always wanted. We empower our team to continually learn and achieve their goals, both inside and out of the salon. To us, a happy united team means happy customers, who continue to return to our salon time and time again.
I hope to see you in the salon soon.

BOSS LADY & MASTER STYLIST
Why did you choose hairdressing, and what do you love most about it?
Sitting in an office all day was not my thing. I chose hair because I love the creativity of it and that every day is different. The thing I love the most is being able to make someone feel amazing. That’s what makes me really happy!
Are you adventurous with your hair colour, or do you prefer your signature colour?
I’m the most boring hairdresser when it comes to my own hair. I regularly refresh my full head of blonde foils. After all, blondes have more fun – right?!
What’s a hairdressing myth you’d like to debunk?
Colour takes better one dirty hair. Actually, colour takes better on clean hair without product build-up. However, removing all your natural oils can sometimes cause irritation, so the best time is in the middle of your washing cycle, like day two or three.
When you’re heading out for a night on the town, what’s your go-to style?
It depends on what mood I’m in!
What’s your favourite local coffee?
The ingredient tree is such a cute place and has the best coffee and great food.
What’s your favourite beauty treat?
My fave beauty treatment would have to be skin needling!
Who or what in the salon makes you laugh out loud?
All my team – they’re a funny bunch.
On Sunday mornings, you will usually find me …
Depends if I’ve gone out the night before! My typical Sunday starts with the gym and a morning walk along the coast with a coffee.

SALON MANAGER & MASTER STYLIST
Why did you choose hairdressing and what do you love most about it?
I’ve been crafty and creative from a young age, but I became obsessed with hairdressing since I got my first colour at 12 years of age. At 14, I was working in a hair salon part-time, and by 16, I was an apprentice. Colour is my passion; I love creating colour and shapes in the hair while listening to music and forming bonds with people.
Are you adventurous with your hair colour, or do you prefer your signature colour?
In my younger years, I loved pastels – purple, pink hair. But as I get older, I like the more subtle tones; I’m loving my dark brunette style I’ve had the last year. I’ll keep the colour creativity for my clients.
What’s a hairdressing myth you’d like to debunk?
Blondes have more fun… have you met me as a brunette 😉
When you’re heading out for a night on the town, what’s your go-to style?
Either straight and shiny or soft texture waves for days – there’s nothing else in between.
What’s your favourite local coffee
My two faves are Mellow next door and Someday Coffee in Floreat.
How do you spoil yourself?
I just loooooove getting facials. Touch my face or scalp, and I’m yours! And, I love the after-glow you get, of course!
Who or what in the salon makes you laugh out loud?
When an old school song comes on, and everyone is vibing it with their grooves. And, when the clients share their hilarious stories, and the whole salon is giggling.
On Sunday mornings, you will usually find me …
On a beach walk followed by coffee and brunch.

SENIOR STYLIST
Why did you choose hairdressing, and what do you love most about it?
I consider myself fortunate to have stumbled upon my passion during a school work placement. It sparked a genuine love within me, prompting me to leave school in year 11 and embark on an apprenticeship. Since then, I have never regretted my decision. I thoroughly enjoy working with vibrant colours and creating stylish short to medium haircuts.
Are you adventurous with your hair colour, or do you prefer your signature colour?
I’m a lover of vibrant hair colours, and I’ve experimented with almost every shade imaginable, except for orange and green. For the past three years, I’ve rocked a pretty pink hue, not only because I adore it, but also to give my hair a chance to grow. However, I’m already planning my next adventure with a different bold and eye-catching colour.
What’s a hairdressing myth you’d like to debunk?
Dry hair only needs moisture.
When you’re heading out for a night on the town, what’s your go-to style?
Depends how I’m feeling on the night. Either real girly or more casual but still look nice.
What’s your favourite local coffee
Zarraffas
How do you spoil yourself?
Getting my eyebrows tattooed and nails done.
Who or what in the salon makes you laugh out loud?
Everyone, such a good atmosphere in the salon, working with the best bunch of girls.
On Sunday mornings, you will usually find me …
In the car with my dog cheeko going for a coffee run.

SENIOR STYLIST
Why did you choose hairdressing, and what do you love most about it?
I’ve always had a passion for hair, even as a kid. I’ve always experimented with hairstyles, cuts and funky colours; it brings out the artist in me. I have the most fun when creating crazy colours.
Are you adventurous with your hair colour, or do you prefer your signature colour?
I’m 100% adventurous; the brighter, the better, I say!
What’s a hairdressing myth you’d like to debunk?
Can you repair split ends? You can to some extent with the correct products. But if you want to completely get rid of split ends, you must cut them out, and get regular trims.
When you’re heading out for a night on the town, what’s your go-to style?
I have a bit of a punk rock vibe, chains, big earrings, boots. But with my hair, I love to curl it and give it that messy look.
What’s your favourite local coffee
The salon’s neighbour, Mellow café!
How do you spoil yourself?
I like having a face mask; it feels so refreshing.
Who or what in the salon makes you laugh out loud?
All the girls make me laugh and smile.
On Sunday mornings, you will usually find me …
Staying in watching Netflix, or if it’s sunny, out and about shopping and having coffee with friends.

JUNIOR STYLIST
Why did you choose hairdressing, and what do you love most about it?
When I was little, I always wanted to be a hairdresser. I hung on and completed my certificate II then I got the apprenticeship at Spoilt. I love meeting new people and love doing colours and blow drying!
Are you adventurous with your hair colour, or do you prefer your signature colour?
Blonde is my preferred hair colour. I like ash tones because I think it brightens me up and makes me feel happy.
What’s a hairdressing myth you’d like to debunk?
Cutting hair makes it grow quicker; cutting your hair doesn’t make your hair grow faster. However, cutting off split ends will stop it from breaking off on the ends.
When you’re heading out for a night on the town, what’s your go-to style?
My go-to would most likely be a glamourous wave in a half-up, half-down style.
What’s your favourite local coffee
My favourite local coffee would have to be from mellow coffee! It just tastes so good and is only next door to the salon.
How do you spoil yourself?
I would have to say one of my favourites things is getting my hair freshened up, so it looks nice and pretty. Another would be having my eyebrows done because I always love having them fresh.
Who or what in the salon makes you laugh out loud?
All the girls make me laugh because they are such a great team to work with. But clients make me laugh too, so many good stories are told in the salon.
On Sunday mornings, you will usually find me …
You’d think I’d be sleeping in, but sometimes I’m up very early (I don’t know why!). Or might get a sleep in.

JUNIOR STYLIST
Why did you choose hairdressing, and what do you love most about it?
I’ve always had a deep passion for the beauty industry, and pursuing a career in it has been a lifelong dream of mine. The thought of delving deeper into the world of hair and expanding my knowledge fills me with an incredible sense of excitement for the endless possibilities that lie ahead in my future journey.
Are you adventurous with your hair colour, or do you prefer your signature colour?
I’ve experimented with colours in the past but I prefer browns and warm balayage on myself.
What’s a hairdressing myth you’d like to debunk?
Hair oils makes your hair grease.
Even though some people get greasier hair than others, if oils are used on your mid to ends it wont make it greasy instead it will nourish your hair.
When you’re heading out for a night on the town, what’s your go-to style?
I like my hair straight usually but will mix it up time to time.
What’s your favourite local coffee
Definitely mellow coffee, everything they serve is delicious.
How do you spoil yourself?
Getting a fresh set on lashes and nails.
Who or what in the salon makes you laugh out loud?
All the girls are a good laugh and their reactions to different jokes makes it even funnier!
On Sunday mornings, you will usually find me …
Sleeping in, then with friends and family during the day.
